How to get to KSU

Kursk State University (KSU) is located in the city of Kursk, in the Central Federal District of Russia. International students can reach the university easily via major airports, railway stations, and bus routes. Below you will find a step-by-step guide to help you plan your trip.

1. Arriving in Russia

Most international students arrive through one of the main international airports in Moscow:

  • Sheremetyevo Airport (SVO)
  • Domodedovo Airport (DME)
  • Vnukovo Airport (VKO)

From these airports, you can continue your journey to Kursk by train or bus.

2. Travelling from Moscow to Kursk

By Train (Recommended)

Trains to Kursk depart regularly from Kursky Railway Station (Kursky vokzal) or East Railway Station (Vostochny vokzal).

Travel time: 5–7 hours.

Buses to Kursk depart from several Moscow bus terminals, including:

  • Novoyasenevskaya Bus Station
  • Orekhovo Bus Station

Travel time: 8–10 hours.

Arriving Directly in Kursk

By Plane (Kursk airport is temporarily closed).

Kursk is served by Kursk Vostochny Airport (KUR).

Direct flights from Moscow may be available.
